Nite : Wanna eat ba kut teh?
Me: Singapore one or Malaysia one?
Nite: Got difference?
Me: Yes, I don't eat Singapore one.
Nite: Think it's Malaysia one.
Me: Ok, Jom...
Surprisingly the ba kut teh is good! We ordered their famous pork ba kut teh and seafood soupba kut teh. Both were equally sumptous and has a balance flavor (not too heavy on herbs) and moderate portions of meat. It also came with 'yau char kwai', a must for me. The presence of 'yau char kwai' is already +50 points for me.
Besides yau char kwai, there are also puffy toufu, mushrooms and also special pork balls with shitake mushrooms - in short it ticked all the right boxes me. I will definitely come here again!.
My only grief is the shop name. I have never seen a more unlikely shop name than Sugarbun for a Ba Kut Teh eatery or even a Malaysia Eatery. Sugarbun implies cake shop or cafe or some fast food restaurant. That is a totally gay name for ba kut teh. It does not do it justice. Good ba kut teh shop should have powerful name like Ah Huat Ba Kut Teh or 888 Ba Kut Teh.
I might just put this in their feedback form next time. Wait...do they have a feedback form?

A testimony to the good food is empty bowls at the end of the meal! However I also need to clarify it also serves other Malaysia food like Nasi Lemak, Borneo noodles and some other stuff that I don't remember anymore. The Ba kut teh have erased everything. Currently they are having some groupon deal but excluding their signature ba kut teh. Go figure!
